I'm very pleased with this Christmas display board I made from a board I found in the attic, some fabric, wadding, split pins and ribbon :)

Christmas Wreath
I decided to make my own christmas wreath, but not out of spiky mean holly, but out of festive paper. I basically got the idea from a tutorial which I found here, so I'll admit I did have a bit of help. It was pretty easy though and didn't take too long, once you've found a thing to be the base of the wreath! I'm pretty pleased with it :)

More owls
I've modified my owls in a tree image, so I can have a zoomed in version, which I plan to frame and put up in the stairway next to the whole tree of owls :)

Type tray coffee table and wooden mirror
Now that I've finally moved into my new cottage, my Dad has been busy making me some lovely things as I don't want everything to be from Ikea! It was my idea to make the Type tray table though, so I can take some of the credit!
Thanks to my talented Dad for making these x
The Mirror frame is made from some wood I bought at the Larmer tree wood festival back in september, only I cant remember what it is. The little glass beetle dude is covering up a little hole in the mirror, seems difficult to buy one without holes!
The table is made from a letterpress type tray from a London press, I'm going to use it to put little things in... not sure what yet though!

Postcards from Puffin
I bought one hundred puffin covers in one box this week from Bloomsbury, so I thought I'd share a few of my favourites with you.
"Printing" Cover illustration by Jack Brough,1948.
I want this book! the cover is so retro, and on the subject of one of my favourite things! It's great how the title has just peeled back from the letterpress blocks from which it has just been printed.
ABC / 123 Cover illustrations by Dorothy Chapman, 1943.
I like the restricted and subdued colour scheme here, and they don't look overly childish, unlike some of today's books!
"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" Cover illustration by John Tenniel, 1949.
Tenniel's classic illustations for the "Alice" series of books are what he is mainly remembered for today, he was the original illustrator for this book, drawing 92 drawings which would be carved into wood blocks ready to be printed.

Halloweeny Folk
Having not made anything from fimo since Christmas I decided to get some orange and glow in the dark to make some Halloween Characters. They were rather fiddly and I'm not sure Fimo creations are my forte but here are my attempts!! I'm the most pleased with the ghosty earrings.
The Ghost and Pumpkin earrings are for sale on my Folksy Shop.

I'm starting a printmaking course in a couple of weeks, so I've been doing some research to get ideas, I'd thought I'd share some of my favourites! Fingers crossed some ideas will pop into my head :)
Here are some I found on Boxbird Gallery's website
I think Graham Carter's work is my favourite, might take a while before I could attempt anything as complicated as those!

That Scare You by Popcorny
Sally Elford's lovely work
Roots Alive by Sam Chivers
Mountain by Spencer Wilson
Tom frost's Circus
Here are some other lovely things

An eye catching Owl by The Good Life
Stunt Bunnies by one of my favourites, Peskimo
Tattoo Birds greetings card by Jane Ormes
And finally another bird themed card by Paper and Cloth
Phew! hope you liked as much as I did :)

Crayonfire - tour de france
Check out these wicked images by Crayonfire (Neil Stevens) He's doing an illustration for each stage of the Tour de France (an unavoidable event in our house) I love the colourful style and the texture. I think I may have to purchase a lovely print!
He does editorial stuff too:
