Ampersands Screen print

My latest screen printing experiment is now complete, it consists of three differently shaped Ampersands printed in process Cyan, Magenta and Yellow over the top of each other. As you may know I am rather obsessed with typography, and I love the way one character can be so many different shapes, so I created this print to explore the shapes and how they'd interact with one another.
The print is A4 sized and is available now from my Folksy shop!

Here are some pics of the final print and a few of them in progress:

Moustaches Screen prints

These are my first successful screen prints that I've done in my cabin! (pictures of that to follow soon).
I drew out the moustaches and transferred them to some vinyl, which I then cut them out of using a scalpel, to create a stencil. It took some trial and error but I'm very pleased with the results!

I created several Father's day cards and some actual prints ready to be framed. Please get in touch if you'd like to buy one.

Flea Market Finds

This month's Flea Market provided a nice few bits and bobs, a copper pan which I'm going to plant some plants in, a cool old wooden folding ruler, a tiny type drawer and my favourite thing of all, a vintage Kodak No2 folding autographic Brownie. I did a bit of research about this camera and it was made sometime around 1919 in the US. It takes 120 size film some of which I hope to get hold of so that I can test it out!

Skull Button Wall Art

This is an artwork I created for my friend's wedding gift, she loves skulls and purple, so this is what I came up with!

Refurbished Stool

One of my recent projects has been this stool, which I'm going to use in my screen printing workshop!

I acquired a sad old stool and removed the seat area and took the old fabric off it. I rubbed down the frame and painted it with primer. Next I painted it with two layers of lime green emulsion paint. I may yet lacquer it / varnish it if the paint isn't sturdy enough. I bought some new foam for the seat and re-covered it in some lovely green fabric with squirrels on! Quite pleased with the result although perhaps I should have used a slightly thinner seat pad...

Mr Benn Stationery

I don't often post about things I've done in my job as a Graphic designer here, but I'm particularly pleased with these Mr Benn Notebooks and journals that I helped to design. You can see more lovely stationery on the Museums and Galleries (where I work) Website.

Each item features a pinstripe fabric-style cover and a colourful bellyband. They also have a very fetching green paisley interior!
